Tamara Kostochko is featured in ICONIC, a curated online exhibition by Florence Contemporary Gallery, which opened on 4 August 2025. Rooted in Florence’s Renaissance legacy and reimagined for a digital age, the gallery champions artistic merit over notoriety, connecting emerging artists with collectors, curators, and institutions worldwide through a web-based platform.
At the heart of Tamara’s presentation is "Red Monk" (100 × 70 cm, 2023; canvas, tempera, acrylic, oil pastel). The work was created intuitively, guided by a felt transmission of energy. Conceived initially in a field of purple with forward-reaching green hands, the painting evolved organically: layers of color and gesture shaped the red kimono and background, while a green center emerged to anchor the figure. Pastel marks soften the surface, articulating the aura of the energy being conveyed.
“For me, "Red Monk" is a declaration of my energy. I exist, I create, and I co-create,” the artist notes. “When I look at the painting, I feel vibration and pulsation — in the color, the texture, and the presence that animates the work.”
ICONIC reflects Florence Contemporary Gallery’s broader mission: to embrace the digital landscape, cultivate a thriving global community, and foreground the careers of outstanding emerging artists. Tamara’s inclusion underscores the exhibition’s focus on expressive clarity and the lived intensity of the creative act.
