Staring Anger is a deeply personal work born during a moment of confrontation with my loved one. In the heat of an argument, I picked up a brush and, as if in a trance, began painting a woman with clenched fists and a piercing gaze — capturing the raw energy just before the scream.
Born in a family where expressing emotions was not encouraged, I suppressed them and never developed the ability to show anger. As an adult, in a trusting relationship, I’ve been learning to embrace the full spectrum of emotions. This painting captures a turning point, the moment when I was finally able to release them through art instead of keeping them buried.
The red background of Staring Anger, the tension in the body, the pastel layers laid over stillness — they all reflect the fierce beauty of unfiltered emotion. This painting is not a puzzle to solve — it is a state to experience.Through this, I convey the idea that the fire of anger is just one of many colors in the full spectrum of human emotions. To truly live a fulfilled life, one must honestly experience all feelings — including these.
