Yer-Su (Goddess of Earth and Water)

digital printed 100% cotton
Concept
A symbolic garment created as part of a wedding gift commissioned by the groom’s brother. The intention was to design a pair of kimonos rooted in Tatar mythology and folklore, reflecting the couple’s cultural heritage through visual storytelling and national ornamentation.

Idea
The illustration is inspired by ancient Tatar beliefs about Yer-Su, the goddess of earth and water. This divine female spirit represents harmony between nature and humanity, between earth and sky.

The main character
Yer-Su is depicted as a graceful bird in flight — serene and confident. Her long hair is adorned with chulpy, traditional Tatar hair ornaments that shimmer like droplets of spring water. She moves gently through blossoming sakura branches, symbolizing fertility, rebirth, and feminine strength.

Technique
The print was developed using AI-generated variations.
